I'm just trying to match the XL7's levels to those of my bandmembers when I record us. The AudioDesk manual just says to get everything as close to 0db as possible without clipping and doesn't really say any more about controlling the input levels. So at present, I have them turn their preamps down to match the XL7. At our last jam session, I tried to jam with them on the CP70 patch from the Vintage Collection ROM. The composer of this particular music liked this sound the best out of the electric piano sounds I have in the XL7. Unfortunately, I couldn't get more than -24db to -20db output for that patch even after I did a Quick Edit and bumped the max velocity to 127. So I was drowned out by the other two. Fortunately, she's willing to consider an organ sound as an alternative - those seem to be loud enough to hang with the other instruments.
