Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Well, remember too that you're talking about mixing musicians. They
often don't understand proper recording levels and crank everything
they own up to 10. When dealing with electronic gear, the output levels
are often much lower than guitarists have their own gear set to;
especially if the guitarists are using distortion (basically
super-compression) and other effects that can make apparent volume much
much higher than an un-processed sound.

Again, I might recommend a compressor for your effects chain over the
xx7... if not only to put yourself on the same playing field as some of
the distortion + preamp folks.
