Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Today I received my XL-7. Pretty good price with BIN on eBay: $350
with the Proteus Pop ROM installed.

Anyway. The OS is version 1.01. I see that there is a newer OS. So far
I haven't been having much luck with the upgrade. The "e-loader" I
found on the Emu website lauches OS9 Classic, and then fails to run. I
have an iBook with OS X 10.3.9. And I don't think there is any way to
reboot directly into OS9. I'm not even sure that my little MIDI
interface would work under OS9.

Any idea what I should try next? Is there an "e-loader" for OS X? Is
there an SMF for the OS upgrade? Is the OS upgrade worth all this trouble?
