I think my lost post might have helped diagnose the problem. Presently, my computer (and Sonar) is not MIDIed to my E-Mu [P2500 w/ XL-1 ROM]. So I have not been able to reconstruct the diagnostic steps. Perhaps over the long weekend I will be able to do it. My guess is that you do not have Sonar setup properly. Why don't you either post (in the Files section) your master.ins file from Sonar. I (and others) can try to figure out what's not working properly. > If I create a pattern in the MP and save it via e-loader and then > open it up in Sonar it asks if I want to send sysex data and I say > OK !!! ... The MP plays all of the presets fine. Internally E-Mu sequences have a short sysex command that sends preset data to the internal synth. When you save that as a *.mid file and open it into Sonar, Sonar stores that as sysex bank 0. It is designated as autosend, so you are asked if you want to send it when you first load the song into Sonar (unless you change the default query to "Don't ask me any more; just do it!") (Select View | Sysx, highlight Bank 0, then press Enter to see the command.) Don't despair; unless Sonar 5 is seriously buggy, you should be able to: (1) change presets via Sonar on a track by track basis (2) save your Sonar project with you desired presets. --Steve
