ditto thanks a lot. that cleared some stuff up. when i get a chance 
to see if i've found a solution i'll let you know:)

the Arp menu (on the PX-7 it's labeled Arp/Beats) which is the BEATS 
MODE screen. Set mode to "off" if you never intend to use the 
feature. By default, it's in preset mode "P" which means if the
