I have not done this in a while but cakewalk used to have a macro built in to seperate midi by channel, I believe there is an edit feature in sonar that now can do this...I'm pretty sure your definitive answer lies in Sonar itself and not xl7....hope this helps -------------- Original message -------------- From: Shane <lvrshn@...> I have the Emu XL-7 and using Sonar 5.. Why is it, when I load a midi file that is a preset Sonar seperates all the drums and synths midi channels.. But when I make my own song it creates one midi file is it the whole Type 1 and 0 thing can someone explain to me this process... And How do I create a song that seperates each an everything track to it's own Midi track ( track 1 to Midi 1, and so on)..
