does anyone use their xl7/mp7 just to sequence?

i'm thinking of using my xl7 just to sequence my sampler on 32 channels

is this easy enough?

i guess it's just a matter of buying a lot of sample cds and stocking
up my samplers hard drive

just an idea

a good one?
