If you turn on "Rechannelize to track" you should never have to touch the basic channel on your keyboard. The XL-7 automatically reassigns channels (as well as outputs) appropriately. You will need to turn off rechannelize to record a multi-track (though not to play one back). Oh, and by the way, you can use up to 16 channels on a track, but they must all be from the same port (MidiA or MidiB), so in your below example, 12a & 14a would work (as well as the rest of the A channels) but not 2b. -Aaron David Jones wrote: > Oh and also, when i record from an external keyboard, say, on channel > 4, and i'm on track5 , it will record whatever i play to track 5. is > there anyway to make it do this the right way (to track 4)??? > > Also, If I want to record channels 12a, 14a, and 2b on track 1 > using an external keyboard, would I need to record on tracks 12, > 14, and 2 and then merge?
