The easiest way that I have found to do this (so far) is to create a pattern with all of your necessary external channel assignments set first, then record at least one note on each of the 'external' tracks, and the save it as a base pattern (works best if its pattern 000 in whatever bank). Then to start a new one, go to that track, hit save and select where you want to start the new one, and then go into the pattern edit and select to delete all track data (being sure all the tracks are 'ON'). Then they all stay set to the designations....this is a bit tedious as well, but is quicker still than going track by track everytime. I hope they fix that in the next OS :)) Byron -- Chaos exists as raw material from which to create order. -Reverend Mother Superior Darwi Odrade -----Original Message----- From: billyk52000 [mailto:billyk@...] Sent: Saturday, July 20, 2002 1:23 PM To: xl7@yahoogroups.com Subject: [xl7] Sequencing question?? When I use the XL-7 to sequence a midi module. It seems like I have to select external in the "channel assignment " each time for each individual track. Is there a short cut or any advice to make it easier to using the XL-7 just as a sequencer for my external gear? I know that with the 1.31 operating system the unit reverts to internal on the midi channel assignment page. I just want it to stay external. Also I am open for any tips in this area of sequencing and any advice to making my life easier. I am still learning the unit.
