Expert? No, I just like it :) If you get the Xl-7, I would recommend you immediately install the 1.31 OS, available from the Emu site. As for sequencing software, I completely recommend Cubase SX (or SL if you don't need the extra features). It's by far the best sequencing package I've used, although take that with a grai of salt as it's just my opinion.
