Yeah it's a really, really good CD IMO, I'm glad it's not all dance tunes. Some of the sound design on there is really excellent, great on headphones too, lots of spatial manipulations going on. While I'm sure that he was very hands on with this CD, it too was co-produced by Charlie May (the man behind Xpander), and Junkie XL too. I don't really care who actually wrote the CD though, it's one of my favorite's so far this year (right behind Deepsky's excellent "In Silico").
The new Underworld is pretty kick ass too, Darren leaving didn't really affect their sound at all, whew!

Sasha just released his 'proper album', titled "Airdrawndagger". It's quite good, if anyone is interested. I'm not sure it lives up to the hype that's been surrounding it. It's not quite groundbreaking, but he's definitely a good songwriter. Different than I expected 211; chilled out, almost new-agey. It's taken him 5 years, so I'm sure his role was much deeper than Oakey's.

If this is the same as the rest of Oakey's "original tunes" then he's just the executive producer, not really the writer. He just comes into the studio and says "put a break down here", "make this part longer", "we need deeper drums" etc. Not too different from Timo Maas and Matrin Buttrich really, except that Timo freely admits Martin does most of the work :)
I am curious to hear that track with Perry Farrell on vocals though....

Blurry! Yes. Especially since DJs are now releasing proper albums (Paul Oakenfold - Bunkka).
