Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

I am working on sequencing the beginning of Papercut by Linkin Park 
as my first sequencing project.  It has brought up a few questions.  
Can I create my own drum kit?  I can't seem to get the stock kit 
combinations to sound like I need them to.  I have found a kick, and 
a snare that would do the trick, but I can't figure out how to group 
them.  Also wondering if anyone had any ideas how to get that dive 
bomb type stall and then recovery in the intro sequenced.
