Re: [xl7] just my opinion?

If you record realtime controller data, should the Quick edit controllers be
set to the initial controllers or not? I´´m not sure if it changes anything,
I think it comes out the same....but..
>>>It doesn't matter, it'll record the knob movements either way. <<<
That´s that MAX/MSP, please tell me more.
>>>It's a programming utility to make your own MIDI "software objects". It's very complex,a nd in a way is a lot like computer programming in order to get usable results. Not at all for beginner IMO, but you can do some intersting things with it if you like programming from what I've read. <<<
-Take a Roland 303, there´´s the way to change more controllerdata than just
velocity using grid edit, so that fact is bullshit.
>>>You can also use List Events to edit CC's, it's the third to last menu under Pattern Edit. <<<
-Using realtime record on XL-7 changing controllers is not to comfortable,
what you also hear is the turning of knobs, (don´t want to hear that
sometimes) so if I have done a new track with a controller movement and I make a
second pattern recording new controller data on same channel, same controller but
other track, now it can really get to bad parameterbreaks, cause you really
don´t know exactly where that contoller is at the moment, sorry, but that´s
all bullshit, too.
>>>Sorry, I don't understand what you're trying to say! <<<
- The Effect unit, don´t talk about that, take a Korg Kaoss Pad and you know
what I mean, the only thing I use it for to add some hall or delay, but
there´s the problem of no dry signal, here is no good way to make a flexible
effect control, really , really old technique from E-MU.
>>>You can set one of the busses to 0% if you need a dry signal. <<<
-The grid edit don´t works on external sources, the note always goes back to
C-1, obviously a mistake in the software.
>>>See Aaron's post on this yesterday. <<<
