My sampler ways a ton, it's not happy in harsh envirements, and the more I can make a sound my own, the better...not to mention, I already have to rack fulls of gear, plus a nord modular to lug around, would be nice to have a bit more power in a box thats already in the rack. But, all in all, I'm not saying we should keep pestering EMU, I'm simply pointing out that there are good reasons for it for other people out there, even if the're aren't any for you. If I had a chunk of change to spend, I would still rather buy a Proteus, or whichever synth it is that can burn roms, than to buy a whole different sampler that I would have to deal with more loading everytime i turn it on...I'd be more than happy to pull out the xl7's preset rom and keep something completely filled with rom samples of my own in it....
