Actually for dance my most usefull kit list would be: Virus Indigo C or even the original XL7 Roland XV5080 rackmount w/expansions I think that is really the most productive. You would be crazy not to get an Access Virus B or C, forget the synth cards, or at the very least a Waldorf Micro Q or a Novation Nova or Supernova. Here's a link to a Micro Q super cheap http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2503248933&category=23792 Actually I could get by just fine with a JP8000 and an MC505 with a good mixer and compressor. My current setup: Fruityloops, Sonar 2XL, Cubase SX, Soundforge 5, Beatslicer Midi Timepiece AV, Opcode 64x, Opcode 128x Roland MC505, Emu XL7 with TSCY and MoPhat Waldorf Pulse Plus, Future Retro 777, Access Virus B Roland XV88 with House, HipHop, and sounds of Asia Kawai K5000s, Emu Audity 2000 Yamaha A5000 w/zip 250 outboard effects and compressors. Digital mixer Lots of other stuff. I'd have to say my out and out favorites are Fruityloops, K5000s, Pulse Plus, Orbit v2, and Virus B. I have been most productive with the 505, a JP8000, and the A5000 using bZone. I would say if you get the Phantom, get the XL1 Pro and a Virus B. Don't bother with the expansion cards, or get those later. If you can't afford a secondhand virus get the Korg MS2000r or the Micro Q. This ought to muddy up the waters a bit... ;) Andre
