Re: 909 sounds set?

2003-01-29 by OneSneakYmousE <onesneakymouse@onesneaky

What you say is very interesting.

I am not very happy with the Roland Fantom sounds. I think I would
probably use 1/4 of the sounds because most of them are acustic,
that's why I was thinking about the ROM Expansions.

The drums on the EMU XL are amazing! I will definately use those.

I was liking the Fantom-S because of the sequencer, sampleing, I can
use it as the controller for all the modules, and expandability. I
heard the Supreme Dance card....Not particularly happy with all the
sounds. Probably happy with 1/2 of those sounds.

So, your probably right about my choices.

This leads me to this:

I dont have any sequencer, or software sequencing knowlege. I've
always used hardware--(Roland XP-80 and the Korg N364--sequencer).
It had 16 tracks.

Now, what if I got one of these two (Which is better)

SuperNova2 Keyboard version

or

Virus KC5 Keyboard version

In addition to that, the Orbit3--XL card?

If I get this set up, I'm going to need a sequencer, something I
have no idea how to do on a PC. My question is, if I do this set up,
can I use either of these keyboards as the controller for the
Orbit3? If so, how will it work?

I hear that some modules come with 32 channels, but most have 16.
So, if the Keyboard only has 16, how will I get the other 16 out of
the 32?

What is the better Synth?

Supernova II Keyboard 5-Octave 24-Voice Polyphonic Synth 8-part
multitimbral capability/ 1,024 user Programs

Or

Access Virus kc 5-Octave Synth 32-voice polyphony and 16-part
multitimbral capability/ 1024 programs (256 User / 768 ROM / 128
Multi)

Does this "1024 programs (256 User / 768 ROM / 128 Multi" Mean that
the Virus has 1024 individual sounds?

Lot's of questions, please help.
Thanks!
