Scott, I ran into this same thing over the weekend (Although I'm using Win98se). E-Loader would occasionally not transmit my patterns to the XL-7 properly, or give me an error mesage saying the pattern was not successfully downloaded. If I rebooted the PC, then it would work fine. Can you tell me a bit more about your failure symptoms? You say sysex messages are getting 'distorted'. How are you coming to that conclusion? Are there error messages reported? Note that thousands of users are using E-Loader and it is working fine for the vast majority of them. The more information you give me the better I can help you figure out why your system is having problems.
