Groove quantize is just a type of quantize that instead of using regular note values for it s base (ie, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 notes, etc), it uses premade templates

Basically the easiest thing to do to make a pad sound is to change the Amp Envelope (Check out this article, it should help you understand what that means)
