Discount ROM prices are spreading.

Discount ROM prices are spreading.

2003-10-28 by rabidmusic

I was poking around the American Musical website today and notice
that they have matched the prices posted on the EMU site. It is nice
to see that stores can now match these prices. I almost ordered the
B4 ROM to fill my last open slot, but they were out of it. They do
seem to have most others in stock.

If they are only matching prices with emu, then buy from emu to support the company since emu must have to sell to the stores for quite a discount. You might wonder why companies do not undercut the stores. If they did so, the stores wouldn't carry them. On the other hand, you might ask the stores (and you might be successful too) to undercut themselves (and Emu) since you can say that you can get the same price direct from emu. Often the stores (since they are paying less) will give you some deals over their advertised prices. It pays to ask.

Yes, the main reason I mentioned this is that stores often offer more
payment options. I noticed right off that Emu does not take Discover
Card. Many stores offer free shippng and sometimes interest free
payment terms. But I agree, I like Emu and prefer to buy direct from
them if possible. It is a company I want to help, as long as it does
not cost me extra. :-)

I have to say, I do like buying direct from Emu. I recently bought
the ZR76 rom, and execpt for the pianos, I hated it. I called them
up and explained, and they said, no problem to return. I thought it
would be a hassle. Since I ended up getting the mp7 rom instead,
they didn't even charge me a restocking fee.
How nice to deal with a reasonable music company, just try that with
Roland or Yamamha!
