Sound quest support for XL7 -EMU are you listening?

Sound quest support for XL7 -EMU are you listening?

2003-11-11 by dwoodaman

I got this from Soundquest - it appears that they are giving up
making an editor because they are not able to get a command station
to work with, or something like that. I know many of us here would
love to have an editor, perhaps if someone from Emu is listening
here they could maybe lend us all a hand?
thx
Dana

Hello Dana,

There is no news that I can give you at this point. We were supposed
to test
units last month but Emu wasn't returning phone calls so we weren't
able to
do the expected testing. At this point, the work hasn't been
rescheduled.

You can get some functionality, but it's not worth the time of trying out
yourself.

At least SoundQuest is consistant with their lame reply. Excuse
me mister, can I borrow your drum machine, so that I can write
some software for it and make myself some money?

At least http://zuonics.com/ has taken an interest in possible
command station apps.

Other musical devices are including little apps to let the
computer edit data, usually via usb. Why hasn't emu done this? I
guess silence is the best policy.

Yah know, they could buy one or borrow one. If they spent time
writing the code, why not just buy one? They are a business right?

Mark of the Unicorn managed to get one and program an editor for Unisyn 2.0
just fine.

it's sad that Mac OS X doesn't have the facility for the kind of integration
between programs that MOTU has in Mac OS 9.x with Digital Performer and
Unisyn through FreeMIDI. I edit a patch bank in Unisyn, combining patches
from other banks into a new bank, for example, and send the new bank over to
my XL-7. going to Digital Performer, the patch listing has been
automagically updated.

SoundQuest looks like what Galaxy for the Mac used to be - THE
editor/librarian program. Emagic has SoundDiver but it looks like support
for it is going by the wayside.
