Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

hi

I have the sysex dump of the XK6 bank 0. I've managed to get it to 
load by changing the ID portion of the sysex to that of my XL1.  
however, the instruments remain unmapped.  Does anyone know what i'm 
doing wrong?

I suppose the person who did the sysex for the XL7 to XL1 banks must 
know

I suspect that the ROM instrument pointers in each of the patterns 
are point to the original rom.  If I am correct, you would have to 
change all pointers to the installed rom's instuments.

I haven't done this in months, but I seem to recall needing to change
(1) rom instruments for all layers
(2) audition riffs
(3) links (if any)
(4) possibly other

I started to write a program to do conversions automatically, but it 
was quite a task to try to create a matrix of rom instruments. I have 
no intention of returning to this project.  If others want to tackle 
this one, I will be glad to suggest methods.

Don't know who did the XL-1 conversions.  I thought E-Mu did it 
themselves possible as part of the XL-7 design process.

PS:  If you upload the sysex dump, I would be interested to see if I 
can make some suggestions based on my XL-1 [Xtreme Lead] ROM.
