OK...I'm into hiphop/jazz what ROM should I get next?

Hello,

I have the PX7, pro drums, pure phatt. Should I shoot for the Beat Garden or what? Basically looking for sounds that will support those 2 genres along with what I already have. Help me out please! : )
Oh yeah, I'm not against used ROMs as long as they are ESD-proofed!!

I asked a similar question and was told to search the Yahoo archives
(thanks to Steve The Composer for the tip - boy the Yahoo search sure
is painful!) and the archives at Harmony Central's forums for posts by
aeon.

What I found was an overwhelming percentage of favorable reviews of
the Vintage Collection ROM - they like the synths of course but
surprisingly, the electric pianos and drums get high marks as well.
aeon's fave combo is the Vintage, the XL ROM, and the Techno Construction.

Most of the reviews I found of the Beat Garden were bad.

You said two genres. Hip hop and what is the other one?

Good luck! I'm still waiting to get my Command Station. I was
supposed to get it today but there's a mixup... I'm getting an XL-7
instead of an MP-7 now.

YES YES YES! The Beat Garden is a fantastic ROM.

On the other hand, I should defer to Matt on this one. ;) I believe
I've heard audio samples of his MIDI guitar jams - he's got really
good sounds as I recall.

You may check out the Pop Rom for its Rhodes/Basses/Kits: it's more of a
bread-n-butter kind of card. Also, you may check out the Sounds of the ZR
if you liked the old Ensoniq samples. The Coakley pianos are the best and
there are a few nice kits in it as well. Hope this helps!
