No, i don't think you understand. Everything is IN PLACE quantized
perfectly.

And use cubase is not a viable solution, thanks though. I use this
unit live.

I have found that for some reason, certain ROM instruments cause the
machine to lag, see my post from earlier this year about the PX-7 ROM.

Re: PX-7 lag problems

2004-05-17 by robotchas

Anyone ever track the source of this problem down? It's just the
Studio Kit preset, right? But not always?

I'm wondering if it's a specific sample in the Studio Kit, or
something within the preset programming, or a quirk of certain
patterns, or what. If we can precisely determine what causes it, it
will be easier to avoid it.

Hmmm. Will have to play around with this tonight.

Hmmm. That's icky. Try looking through the tracks for lots of
controller data or other stuff on the beat. Use event and note list
edit.

I think it's just a specific sample in the kit, I don't remember which
though.

I actually forgot to save the pattern. That could be it. I also
put that drum track on track 16 which has the lowest MIDI priority
according to spec. 10 is what "you're supposed to use"

Right

k have fun!

I also put that drum track on track 16 which has the lowest MIDI priority
according to spec.

>>>Why would you want to use the worst timing (relatively) track? <<<

10 is what "you're supposed to use"

Re: 3 yrs on the Emu and now I get lag?

2006-02-08 by len

did you sort this problem out ????

as posted to xl7forum just now......

hi please can any one with an idea to fix this help , as below

delays on first beat of bar timing error etc. aprox .02 ms- .03 ms .

before you ask ," or as you put it "LAG"

problem is the data being played is not full or heavy on poly or midi
CC in fact none .... , basic 4/4 beat and 16th note techno style hats
3 sounds in all on track1 , track two arp synced to midi clock one
note held for a full bar ect or picked mono bass line etc .

as soon as more than one track is unmuted the problem occures. & the
more unmuted it gets unpro or XP pro , need i say more.

doesent matter what tracks are used ether , but with only one track
playing its very tight and sounds good & funky OSX "musical & free".

i found that the fualt can be heard much easyer when delaying the arp
notes ect , as all sound goes mudy " not nice" as soon as more than
one track is played ??

using one track arped with delays or echo as before sounds clean &
well in time .

any clues , also i switched off the parameters to be reset on each
pattern loop or first beat to off ect in song mode etc , but it still
has the problem ,

dont know what to do about this , seems abit daft having 16 tracks
128 note poly , & 6 outs etc , if i can only play a one note arp . or
single midi track .

also i know my way around emu gear etc , also tryed sync to a korg
electribe & otherz & still does it . , whats the latest OS for it ??,

i also reloaded the whole OS & preload data from emu wesite . no
joy .

id realy like to use this peace of kit for it arps "better then
electribe" + sounds are better / more outs , but its no good like
this , or an expensive one track seq , the korg electribe SX has a
similar problem but only if playing back well in to its poly & much
midi note & data . about 8 of the 10 or so tracks , can put up with .

any thoughts are much welcome .

and sorry if i sound grumpy but i want my 909 back , lol

cheers.
