I guess this probably isn't possible, but I just thought I would ask. I just ordered the composer rom -my box be full now! - and Aaron mentioned that it had the same samples but different presets as the proteus pop, right? Is there any way to somehow steal these presets, or maybe some of them, thur some kinda sysex dump or something? thx much

Yes, it's pretty easy with a sysex program. If somebody could dump all the Pop ROM presets, all you have to do is change all the ROM ID fields in the dump from the Pop ID to the CMPSR ID (the IDs are the same as the bank select MSB). -Aaron --- dwoodaman <dwoodaman@...> wrote: > I guess this probably isn't possible, but I just thought I would ask. > I just ordered the composer rom -my box be full now! - and Aaron > mentioned that it had the same samples but different presets as the > proteus pop, right? The Pop ROM has an extra bank than the P2500 ROM has. Here's the lowdown on the infamous EROM2 samples... CMPSR = 8 (7?) banks of presets, seemingly old sounding IMHO P2500 = 4 banks, better presets (again IMHO) PK6 = 5 banks, P2500 + additional keyboard and beats presets Pop = same as PK6 You'd definitely want the Pop ROM as opposed to the P2500 ROM as it is a superset, and the extra bank is good. -Aaron PS. take all this with a grain of salt, it's been 2 years since I worked at E-mu and my memory's fuzzy... (or maybe that was just the few glasses of wine I just had) --- steve_the_composer <smw-mail@...> wrote: > How many different ROM variations are involved? and what are the IDs > of each?
