Command Station Step Sequencer

Command Station Step Sequencer

2004-11-11 by Soren

Wouldn't it be *DREAMY* if you could enter a special kind of simple step
sequencer mode on the Command Station that functioned similar to an analog
sequencer?

IMAGINE:

A) Each of the 16 knobs could represent one step in a simple 16 step sequence
B) The buttons accross the top could be used to select one of four editing
modes:
	1) Note (QuickEdit)
	2) Gate (Program)
	3) Volume (Volume)
	4) Pan (Pan)
C) You could start this special step sequencer mode running and then tweak
everything in real time

For my purposes, I would be perfectly happy being limited to a length of
one single 16 step measure; but it would be important to me to be able to
choose to control an external synth while in this special mode.

SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME that this special mode is already implemented and
can simply be activated by pressing a little-known combination of
buttons!! ;-)

Peace..

-Soren.

How's 2 out of 4 grab ya?

Get the 2.0 OS, and that button you mention will toggle between volume
and gate, with each knob representing one step. I *do* like the idea
of note though...

Aaron,

I didn't realize that! After reviewing a lot of the archives, I have come
to believe that you are the very reason that the Command Stations are such
a pleasure to use. Thank you!

Unfortunately, without the ability to tweak NOTE information, it isn't very
useful to ME. If I had to live with just two parameters, I would choose
Note and Gate. Then Volume, and finally, Pan. That would make it so much
FUN to PLAY with. Especially when used with external synths - like my
analog mono-synth.

So... is there *any* possibility of switching Volume control for Note
control? Or, better yet, having control over ALL FOUR parameters?

Just thought I'd ask.. :-)
