Are there any special direction for installing sound roms on the XL-7?

I just installed a composer rom, but it doesn't show up under my 
presets.

No.  Make sure it is facing the right way and properly seated.  Try putting it in another position.

Thanks. I got it working. 
For some reason though the only envelope knobs that work are attack 
and decay. The sustain and release don't do anything. All of the 
other quick edit knobs work the same. I figure it's just the composer 
rom, I'm I right? It only does that on the composer rom presets.

I havent got this rom but you can go in preset edit menu ( in the patchord layer ) to see if this knobs are program to be effective on this two fonction ( for example MIDI H routed to Env release). If not the preset will be not programmed to respond to these fonction so you can do it yourself . I think that the command station run like that. But it's possible i miss something ( perhaps in programmable knobs). 
So as you have this rom what are the best instruments in this , in your opinion?
