My new song: The Transposition
2004-12-17 by José Sáez
Here's a song that i wanted to do since a long time ago. http://www.taliesin.cl/audio/transposition.mp3 Production notes: all the percussion sounds (bass drums, hihats, claps, tambourines, basses) are taken from the Jose Saez drum machine, that means myself :) I coughed, spitted, sneezed, clicked and moaned on the microphone and then i cut the sounds using cool edit. There are even some fake synths and arpeggios made with my mouth. That wasn't expensive since my mouth has been connected to my head since the day i was born. I'm 31 years old so i can consider myself "vintage". Then i re-arranged all the resulting sounds with Fruity loops (i can't stop using that sampler), added some effects (mostly compression, a little reverb and some ocassional delay). I told my computer to take care of the lyrics and the singing, and that's why it sounds so robotic. And that's why the song is called The Transposition: i changed places with my computer so i became the drum machine and it would become the lead singer. Finally i added the vocal pads in the end (that was me again, sampled with the VP9000) and crossed it over with a pad that i created in my KS4 (the pad sound is called Antarctica and it is available at the novA-station group at yahoogroups). This one is the only synth pad. I tried to keep this song as synth-free as possible... Enjoy it ! Jose ........ I'm NOT going to fix your computer. ........
