XL-7 delay problem , midi bump , tick error clock f@*% up?

XL-7 delay problem , midi bump , tick error clock f@*% up?

2005-11-24 by len

hi , iv had a problem with my xl-7 a delay problem with the notes?

as soon as i unmute any extra tracks more than 1 , i can clearly hear a delay on the first
beat or tick clocks etc, "to my trained ear"

its easy to hear this while playing tight drum tracks or notes with a midi clocked echo or
delay as they become sloppy / messy to the ear once a second track is unmuted or more.

please reply to me as this sucks & makes the instrument use less.

Iv run the tests for the unit & its Passes all tested ok .

The rom is v2 latest ? please advise?

Iv tryied the midi data thining on the song menus to excluded data from patterns etc .
No joy !-(

Tracks playing are quantised to 16 note and play fine on there own right . or one at a time.

anyway the tracks im playing are very simple and should play fine . " no CC data "

1 note arp's start to sound messy after a loop to start of pattern "delays are bumped" ,
once any more than one track is playing "same delay at start of track problem"

is this a common problem with the XL-7 software revision i have??

whats happing dudes?

This is not a usual condition with the later OS. If we all had this
problem, we would not be using the XL-7 for our center piece. Search
the following in the message area...there is a similar problem here:

"3 yrs on the Emu and now I get lag?"

Maybe some of the other members can help here....

Hello,

I was thinking about a few things that might have something to do
with the timming delays.

You said;
> its easy to hear this while playing tight drum tracks or notes

the ear once a second track is unmuted or more

Are you running your midi through a sequencing program?

If so there are a few things that could be causing the delays.

Even if you aren't using a computer program but have the MIDI cables
connected to something, you might have a small midi loop problem
that only manifests itself as you add more and more midi out.

Other than that I can't think of anything if your diagnostics say
the hardware is fine.

Peace,
Brandon
