Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

has any one else experienced this i have my emu hooked up to my 
computer with emu as master and once in a while i get dropoffs in sound 
when im hitting the pads or playing on my keyboard i have an xl-7 ive 
updated the os and all went well but does anyone know what might be 
causing this? do i have something on that shouldnt be? like in the midi?
it seems to help when it goes out, to turn it off then on again but i 
dont know why that helps any ideas. it it fried or is it something else?

Could be too much polyphony in use.

See our past posts on how to calculate polyphony in-use.  A sound can use as much as 24 voices out of the 128 of the command station!   Also make sure your ADSR release times are not so long as to force the use of another voice when repeatedly playing a note....
