I go out and earn it, £'s that is.. Its getting harder to filter out this spam. Im getting one particular mail from differant email address and the message is a jpg in the message body. Also they have a load of random text in the message body as well..

I've run the Electribe groups on yahoo for the past 9 years- The only way to keep them spam-free is to turn on the "moderate posts from new users" option- When someone joins, I have to approve the first couple messages they send. Just a thought, for whoever the moderator/owner is here :) -- "Jupiter accepts your offer..." AIM:IMFDUP

They're long gone. I've tried sending email directly to them, but to no avail. We've contacted yahoo about adding a new moderator and they say they won't do that. They suggested starting a new yahoo group. Lame, huh? Maybe I'll ask around and see if I can get an inside source... -Aaron

Mmm. Is spam a huge problem? I haven't noticed a whole heap.. thought that may be because my GMail filter is pretty good.. if it is a huge problem, we could always move to a google-group :p [zar]

Happily, spam has not been that much of a problem. However, responses to spam are another story. In the case of this one little item, my guess is that the replies have generated 50 - 100 times* the amount of text of the original post (including all the appended comments upon comments). *just an estimate Usually people just ignore spam, but perhaps the lure of making $100 in a day invites comments. Hmmmmmm. I just realized something ironic: after work today (where I make about $70.00 before taxes), I did a day trade which netted me $127.26 in profits. And, no, I didn't get the idea from any spam links. I think its a waste of everyone's time even talking about it--unless its really funny. Somewhere in the archives there are some threads in reply to spam that were outrageously funny IMO. I think one thread started with spam about "improving your performance" to which a whole bunch of comments related it to the Command Station. Sadly, I don't this this little item generated much humor. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Alwyn <zardac@...> wrote: > > Mmm. > > Is spam a huge problem? I haven't noticed a whole heap.. thought that
