laugh ha ha ha Eerrrr Don't put that there.... dude the RS7000 aint the answer to your problems The presets sound like ass and it has mad timing, sync and clocking issues, not to mention boring filters and clugey sampling. The XL7 is a great box but if you are really hell bent on not using it, use an E4 or an MPC or something, or sofware. Among other things, I use an XL7 in conjunction with my computer and everything is fine. If you live in your computer a little more and get out of the internal sequencer, everything will be fine. In fact I don't even use the internal sequencer and never have before and am not sure why anyone would even use one when computers are so powerful and flexible. Dude use Logic and your XL7 and everything will be peachy. With the XL7 you're balls deep in mad sound that the RS7000 aint cracked out to do. Step up. If you're stuck in hardware sequencers all the time, your credits will be rolling. I don't know what all the sniveling is about. If you want the XL7 to cook for your, well it won't do that. Now get trackin' C14 ------------------------------------------------------------- brechin01356 wrote:

The computer-sequencer never have as precise timeing as any hardware-sequencer have. It is especially important if you make dance music. Personaly i also like it because the less visual information i get the more i use my ears. At the moment i use cubase on mac, but as soon i'll get familiar with the sequencer i'll move into it and i'll use the computer only for recording! In fact I don't even > use the internal sequencer and never have before and am not sure why anyone > would even use one when computers are so powerful and flexible. I think the computer is great, it does everything for you, but also reduces the quality of your work. Maybe you don't care about the writing on the box "16 track sequencer" but that's why i bought the machine! And i hope EMU also take it seriously and they will take care of those bugs! There's a long way, guys! We trust you! (What else can we do?) virgács

why buing an XX-7 then? The soundmoduls can be expanded, have the same sounds and are a lot cheaper...? I wanted to get away from the computer and bought the MP-7 for that. I demoed it against the RS 7000 - the latter a very easy to use box with a different approach to composing music. I experienced no glitches, found it very reliablke, also liked the efx, the sampling possibilities are awsome but I couldn´t live with the sounds. I missed the basic crunchy and punchy sound ylu cannot achieve by sampling in my opinion. This is where the xx-7 rock, and the solid hardware feel sure enough. Other than that I think the yammie is a serious alternative, depends on your likes as usal... Alright now. I have to disagree with this completely. I usually don't post here but I had too. I perform live and actually tour doing live a live house thing. I originally started out on the Alesis MMT-8's. just not enough memory so all the live performers have been kinda looking for something like the MMT-8 but better. I have owned every sequncer under the sun it seems like. I was very excited about the commandstations and actually bought two of them, one I have not even opened out of the box yet. And my opinion on the matter is as a live sequncer the RS7K is way more solid. Sounds? yeah they are lame but the effects routing and editing is way better. And the sounds on the emu are just as lame. so taht leaves the sequncer. The emu probally had the worst midi timing ever. I don'y know if it has been fixed but I send midi clock out to other sequncers and the would fall off after a few loops. I mean a train wreck. The RS7000 has really nice timing. It has a real list editor. The emu try at that was really lame. And the rs, it has storage medium. THat usb crap on the command station probally still doesn't work huh? so take it from someone who has used both in a live setting. THe RS kicks major ass and it will definetly work for you man. Sell that emu... > laugh ha ha ha Eerrrr Don't put that there.... > dude the RS7000 aint the answer to your problems > The presets sound like ass and it has mad timing, sync and clocking issues, > not to mention boring filters and clugey sampling. > The XL7 is a great box but if you are really hell bent on not using it, use > an E4 or an MPC or something, or sofware. > Among other things, I use an XL7 in conjunction with my computer and > everything is fine.
