help!!! Eloader@win2k

2002-02-28 by Bach Phan

hello XL7 group
just bought the xl7 and installed the Java and
E-loader
from the CD that came with the unit into my Sony Vaio
(PCG-Z505LSK) notebook with Win2K and Motu Fastlane
midi interface.
the installation went well had no problem, but when i
tried to download the new os 1.18 to the Xl7(1.01)as
instucted from emu website but it didn't work. on the
xl7 display it has this message: midi timeout error.
then i tried to upload pattern from xl7 to the
computer
this worked; then i tried to download some pattern,
which came from the xl7 folder in the CD, from the
computer to Xl7.....this did NOT work!
please share your advice and suggestion! thankyou!

Before you can update to 1.18 from 1.01 you must first download the
commandPrep10.dli file. Did you do this? (That information is in the
ReadMe that comes with 1.18). The error you reported is not what I'd
expect in this case though. Is it possible that you have some kind of
MIDI Loop?

Hmmm, that's weird. If you can go one way, there should be no problem
going the other way. First get the OS update completed, then let's see
if your other problems 'magically' go away.

Hello Scott
Thankyou for your reply, but now i don't know if i can

download the new OS because that is when it happended
when i'm trying to download the commandPrep10.dli
file.
:=(((((before  the 1.18dli file!!!
do you think if there is something wrong with this new
XL7 or do you think i should bring this XL7 back to
Guitar Center and exchange for another XL7?
thanks again
