turbo expansion board

turbo expansion board

2012-04-17 by D F Tweedie

Is the turbo expansion board interchangeable for all Proteus 2000 modules?

For example, say you had a planet earth module and wanted to expand it. Could you buy another 'turbo' module, swap out the boards and have them both operational so you could resell the one you didn't need?

you might be able to swap the motherboard and put holes in the frame for the extra outputs, but (imho) it might be a lot easier to just put the planet earth rom in the proteus 2000. then you could even still swap the faceplate if you wanted to.

Thanks, Matt!

Yes, pirating the ROM is also an option ... but if I did what you suggest, I wouldn't have a saleable P2K left.

I learned from this article ( http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/may01/articles/emuplanetearth.asp ) that Planet Earth, XLead, B3 and several other modules were originally sold on the US market with the ability to later purchase the 'turbo expander' kits. So I thought maybe I could get one of those expanded units, remove the turbo expander and still have a B3 or Xlead to sell ... just no longer a turbo model.
