built-in patch editor for the xx7.

What should this patch editor look like, and what should it be able to do?

or like ableton live. i think this software has the most interesting graphical user interface on the market. very straigt forward, but really cool.

Emu would have to publish a real midi spec then (with sysex), something I 
still haven't seen for the command stations...

Yeah, i agree with that - would be the quickest and easiest solution for them. However, would it be possible to make it work with the USB port if they did this??

Yes they really should... if they do they 'll make big difference in 
the "groovebox market" (even I think XL_7 is not simply a groove 
box...)

SoundDiver is available for Mac N Windows, and probably soon for Linux. Why re-invent the wheel?
