XL-7 S/PDIF'ing into a Roland VM3100Pro desk: works fine.

XL-7 S/PDIF'ing into an OasysPCI: appears to work fine. (Literally:
on-screen VU's show signal, although I didn't have the audio hooked
up.)

XL-7 S/PDIF'ing into the MiniDisc: no-go, the MD wouldn't recognise
the clock. Could be for any number of reasons, including the fact that
it was going into a copycode stripper(*) to convert from coax S/PDIF
into Toslink.

Anyways, as Meatloaf once said, two out of three ain't bad.

(*) Neat little box, which I bought many years ago to bounce between
two consumer DAT decks, but presumably illegal to possess in the US
because of the DMCA...?

Nick-

Thanks for providing additional user experience on this issue.

Would you mind responding with the bit-depth/sample-rate
settings on the recording device used when achieving these
results? Thanx.

Off-Topic: Amused at the Meatloaf reference, as I was part of the
original recordings for 'Bat out of Hell' produced by Todd R. The
'steel guitar' riffs on 'Two Out of Three..." were made using my
custom Probe controller and Oberheim analog modules.

Onward-

The VM3100 and OasysPCI were both running at 44.1, 24-bit.

Well well... would that be a Probe portable keyboard (like the one Jan
Hammer used)?
