Crunchy Lo-Fi !!!

Crunchy Lo-Fi !!!

2002-10-06 by epvn896

hey everyone, i think i figured out a way to get some really awesome
Lo-FI sounds out of my MP-7! i was going to give up hope and sell my
unit but then i figured this out:

pick a drumkit. set the filter to the Earlyrizer one.
adjust the Filter Cutoff knob to about halfway.
then adjust the Filter Q to about three quarters of the way.
turn up the amp/vol a little to compensate and there it is!

there are several variations for this i've found as well, but i don't
really have time to post them now. any feedback or other suggestions
would be greatly appreciated.

...i've also found that by playing with knobs 3,4,13, and 14 one may add some rather interesting variation to this effect...

The best and easiest way to get lo-fi is:

Buy a Behringer V-AMP 2 and plug it in... Can add a whole new
dimension of low quality..... :)

**is this just generally true of any preset or even thru put (32 bit)
in the V-Amp? I ask because I have been considering getting one but of
course I would like it to be able to produce hi-fi sounds also.....

thanks Nifflas - I appreciate your input

Don't expect the V-AMP to sound too hi-fi. It's mono, and the sample
rate is not even 44khz, I think it's 33khz ...

It's very beautiful for e.pianos and such tho... A slight distortion
and a little reverb, perhaps a flanger. Really sound like magic.

But don't expect it to sound crystal clear, because it won't. Yet, I
bought it for what it does sound like, and I'm very satisfied.

that's where the behringer DSP2024 comes in handy. it'll make some
badass gritty low-fi sounds, and can sound VERY pristine when you want
it to.
