If you make any changes to the Quick Edit Knobs, you need to save the
Preset, not the Pattern.

ok so everytime I use the quick edit knobs I need to save the preset as well as the pattern? Another question I have is about the appegiators. If I change the M set do I have to save it or will it save it automatically? thanks you make any changes to the Quick Edit Knobs, you need to save the Preset, not the Pattern. rEalm [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

There is no "save" operation for them. One additional comment on the QuickEdit knobs. When you edit a preset using QuickEdit and switch to another track with a different synthesizer channel being used you will loose those changes. This is also true of any edits at all done to the preset. There is only a single edit buffer used for the entire XX-7. So something as simple as hitting the TRACK/CHANNEL plus/minus buttons can cost you your edits. So if your doing a lot of tweaking and switching tracks back and forth you need to get in the habit of hitting SAVE/COPY before changing tracks/channels. drk www.delora.com/music www.mp3.com/zdrk drk.iuma.com

I have another question regarding saving a preset... say I tweek kit-1 and go to save preset.. I save it as kit-1 under user.. what happens if I decide to tweek kit-1 again in the future on a different pattern.. Will these changes be distinguished in each pattern or will the changes just be on the last save I did only? [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

If you tweak and save Preset, regardless of that the Pattern is, the new
Preset definitely overrides the older one (which will be gone forever).
Because of this, I always rename and save my Presets to a new location if
I use them in a different Pattern. There's nothing worse than working on
a new pattern and tweaking a bunch of presets only to realize you
accidentally saved over a Preset that was being used in another pattern.
Another reason I back up my Presets to SX when I'm done working on the
XL-7, at least that way I can always go back and reload the last saved
bank I had. I do wish Emu would come up with a more elegant solution
though, being able to do it all in E-Loader would be SOOO much easier!
Especially if you could pick the Presets you have saved, and choose where
they will download to in the XX-7 like you can with Patterns.
