green screen blues

2003-03-09 by mikexl7

Man I have spent about 6 hours trying to lay out a minimal techno
track and I am suffering from very sore eyes and no finished product.

The tracks structure is simple but the amount of controller datta
going on is not so easy to keep fluid from pattern to pattern. I
have been working with the XL for about a year now and this is not
getting easier.

I am giving in and am going to dive into logic and eloader on
sunday. I am not looking forward to the learning curve on this one.

If there is some one out there who is using logic and eloader to
edit patterns and controller datta and has any advice i would
greatly appreaciate it.

I have used logic from the time of notator so i am familier with it,
it is just the moving of files and the locating the proper
controller datta so i can edit it, and then send it all back in to
the xl. sompthing about this just tells me i am in for a major pain
in the ass type of day.

What i would do for a dedicated editer for this box, i tell ya.
Like a simple sequencer program that was intended for the xl's i
would absolutly freak out for that.

One tired and frustrated techno head.

Im soldier station over in frankurt germany and this weekend i went to the music messe(8 march 2003)and i talk with the emu rep. manager and ask him about the 2.0 os and he told me it will be out in 3-4 week, so the wait is over, they would not tell me the feature, but they had a mp-7,xl-7,and px-7 running off 0s 2.0 beta, funny only the emu rep. were playing these groove box, so that means i could not play it,and to find out whats going on inside. so 3-4 week 2.0 0s will be out and the px-7 will ship with 2.0 os.
