thanks for the advice. the new loop function is a great addendum but I was
asking about something different.
I don't want my song to be stuck on a 1 bar loop while I reprogram a drum
part in grid mode. I'd like to be able to move between measures
indipendently by the song reproduction point.
like the Korg Electribes sequencer, for example, that covers this function
perfectly.

- legato synth programming directly in grid mode.
- more accurate drum programming. just an example: I usually set the
release of my (Akai S5000) drum samples very short, so I can perfectly
control the lenght of the samples via the lenght of the midi note on the
sequencer track. with the MP7 gate time limit to 100% (so a 16th as maximum
lenght) a crash hit (naturally spanning a couple of beats) becomes just a
"tch-"... does it make sense? :)

it still requires lot of page scrolling.
IMO the ergonomics of the OS layout could have been a little bit better.

as I already pointed out, this function doesn't work on MIDI notes on the
same MIDI channel.
it just separates tracks depending on their MIDI channels. that's not what
I'm looking for.
a workaround would be to be able to "cut to clipboard" just a specified
range of notes and then copying them to another track, but it doesn't seem
to be possibile... or am I wrong?
I guess I'll keep using E-loader and Logic for this...
anyway, I'm really enojoying my MP7, even if I have to change my production
habits a little bit to adapt to the Command Station OS peculiarities. very
inspiring piece of kit. I sold my MPC to buy this one and I don't reget the
choice at all...
thanks
