I think you need to have PC turned on for all channels in order for them
to know what Presets they should be playing.

rEalm

I know I had program change off on the channel with the problem but I
turned it on and that helped but things still seem to be acting weird.

I seem to get occasional hiccups, added sounds when patterns change,
presets sounding different from day to day. how can any one rely on this
thing live???? I hope it is just a matter of my own ignorance and not the
MP7 itself. I do name my presets to avoid messing them up.

what is everything I need to consider to make sure my MP7 remains stable
(right now it seems any thing but reliable) and to avoid messing up the
wok
& presets that I have been working on. It seems lately that I can't
effectively save or even scroll through screens while playing.

Re:PRESET QUESTION

See thats just what bugs me. I do have pc on for all the channels is
there something else I am missing in regard to healthy user presets?
Some one posted that hiccups are do to the machien not being set up
correctly. I get occasional hiccups on complex patterns... but not
that complex. What might cause sluggish patternchanges and over all
bad/unreliable performance? I love this thing and really want to be
able to use it effectively. Thanks realm!

RE: [xl7] Re:PRESET QUESTION

I was the one that said that hiccups are due to the machine not being set up
properly, but I was actually talking about the Yamaha RM1x...

Sorry if I confused ya,

Stu

- Make sure you don't have a lot of CC data in your patterns unless you
need it. The usual culprit is Channel Pressure (aftertouch), so you can
always delete that (and other unneccesary CC's) in Pattern Edit mode. Use
Event List Edit to check each track for extraneous data.
- If that info is critical to your pattern, use the Thin Events function
to get rid of some of it, but not all.

Just some ideas...

I get occasional hiccups on complex patterns... but not that complex. What
might cause sluggish patternchanges and over all bad/unreliable
performance? I love this thing and really want to be able to use it
effectively.

I suggest turning off aftertouch completely (both channel and poly) in the
Controllers menu. If you need AT you can always turn it back on to record that
particular track, or for a performance. But if you're not using it, it just generates
extra, unneeded data for you to delete.
