Youre free to use several Matrix-1000,- each one on a different MIDI channel, each one plays the same or a different sound, each one set to unison if you want and play em simultaneously that way,- if you use the right MIDI controller.
You can detune every Matrix-1000 against the others,- theres a master tune parameter.

Also,- youre able to play up to 6 Matrix-1000 in Group Mode (page 29 /Chapter 4 in the manual).
All will be controlled by the group master ... but:
"other changes like fine tune must be made on each unit individually" (page 30).

This has nothing to do w/ the mono/guitar MODE where separate voices of ONE Matrix-1000 play on 6 different MIDI channels.
Channel MODE, page 20 of the manual ...

The problem with a Matrix 1000 is you can't detune each channel. For
instance, on the Xpander you copy a patch 6 times, make a multi with
those 6 voices, then detune each of the 6 patches. Then you get a really
layered sound.

You can't do this on the Matrix 1000 because it doesn't let you have a
different patch per channel in unison mode.

Correct me if I'm wrong!

Jeremy.
