Oh, jee! Looks good. This reminded me that I used to have a Solina String Ensamble, which was dropped during transportation and one of the wooden panels broke. Then, accidentally I sold an other synth to a retired carpenter, who was so happy with our deal that he wanted to repair the Solina box without charging that he did. When I received the repaired panel, I got an idea to treat all the panels as I used to do many times with my father for our wooden boat a long time ago. I.e., I did sand them well and treated with a good furniture lacquer 3-4 times. The result was really great. It looked darker and much deeper than the original (the lacquer must have been a little dark) and astonishingly glossy! So, the Solina became our most beautiful furniture in my opinion. In case of Xpander you need to know how to treat metal panels, I guess. But, have you seen those shiny cars treated with epoxy or something? Maybe the same method could be used. So, you might want to ask this in a car paintshop. ... :)
