Unknown VMEM Test Error

Unknown VMEM Test Error

2012-02-12 by random2393

hi all,

In going through a full calibration and testing of my new Xpander, I noticed that one test does not pass properly. When doing the VMEM test, it fails with the follow error:

"VROM BAD"

I checked the service manual and this error is not indicated anywhere. It only states to replace several IC's if you specifically receive the "CA MEM Bad" error message. however this is not the error I'm receiving.

In reading the service manual, it appears as though the VMEM is used for buffering parameter data from the control board to the voice board. However, even with this error message, I don't see anything wrong with operational use of the Xpander itself. I've gone through most if not all the parameter settings to make sure control options are properly updating the components on the voice board. So far I have found nothing.

So while I'm not certain it's anything to worry about, it would be good to know just in case if this can turn into something worse later on or not.

thanks!

The error message was changed with a software update.
I read that somewhere once but cant seem to find it now

What software versions are you using ?

I'll have to double check when I get back to the studio next week, but I believe it's OS 1.2 for the processor/control and OS 1.4 for the voice board, and OS 1.0 for the Cassette
