Xpander/Matrix12 encoders (Yes, again...)

2012-12-01 by Stefano

Hi! I'm still looking for an encoder replacement. I'm surfing on the mouser website (http://www.mouser.com/) and there are a lot of mechanical incremental encoder. Instead of the ALPS, that doesn't offer a real 1:1 replacement, I've found a Bourns model: PEC11-4220K-N0024. It's a 24 pulses/24 detents, 20mm shaft lenght, knurled profile, no switch, metal shell.....in other words these encoders are REALLY IDENTICAL to the original ones! Am I wrong?
And if you want, there is the "no dentents" version...

Have a nice week end!
Stefano

sam @ syntaur.com has a full replacement kit, very nice encoders, detented but much smoother and quieter than the originals. they feel great. Kit also comes with a set of debounce capacitors.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
