Hi Tom Walk away for this. You just have to ask yourself the question, who in there right mind would send their minimoog to a stranger with out payment - if it's too good to be true then it isn't. It's possible that the seller is part of an organized crime gang and would have your address and name and possibly you telephone number - that's all you need to steal your identity. Stealing identities is the new and biggest problem in the UK and has some very serious implications for private individuals so beware. Alternately, they might just assume you have other studio equipment and come round to your place and steal it all. So.walk away! Hi Guys.. Here's one for you all. We all know the ebay scams don't we? You bid on a Synth, but don't win it - then you get all the scam emails telling you they are also *selling* a the same synth at a bargain price etc... I replied to one such email asking if he was in the UK. (I'd just bid on a Mini Moog but was outbid.) I told him I would only entertian these two options: 1. I could either go to his place, check out the synth and then pay cash before leaving with it. Or 2. if he would be so kind as to send me the synth I will check it out and if it all works and I like it I will send him my payment, telling him that he can trust me - I am not a scammer but an honest guy etc... He now emailed me to ask for my address, as he is going to "send me the package"... Something still doesn't seem right about this. Does this guy just want my address for some reason? Should I send him my address and wait and see if he does send the Mini? Is this a new type of scam that I don't know about yet? I am slightly confused I must say. Any advice, thoughts would be much appreciated. Cheers.
