Re: [yamahacs80] Wanted: CS-80 owners/users for beta test

2005-07-07 by Max Fazio

Hi David
For what I could understand there will be a different approach to this 2.0 update; I was told some time ago that Arturia would have been introducing a new copy protection system, dunno wheter a dongle or else but the former is very likely I think, and many of the fundamentals will be modified, so I guess (absolutely) that when it will be the time they will give you a preliminary version of the synth , then when the beta will be through they will apply a 30% discount on the final release ( which I wouldn't take advantage of, since I haven't a CS at home :-( ) , which price would get at least 1 and 1/2 year to go down ( what I've waited to buy a copy myself )....anyway I think that writing to xavier.oudin@... , frederick.brun@arturia.com or fabrice.paumier@... will help you and whoever interested clearing out some doubts.

Yes, I've just been emailing with Xavier about this (Max told me about
it). I need to clear up with him about when a discount would be
available (his English isn't 100%, although it's a thousand times better
than any of my foreign languages!).

I'm also confused about the pricing. The Arturia online store has CS80v
for $249, which would be $174. I see copies of it from various online
stores for between $150 and $200, which kind of ruins the allure of the
30% discount. Any thoughts on this?
