Hello

You need an oscilloscope and the ability to handle the scope and the 
ability to read schematics and pcb layouts.

To be honest: As long as you are not an "electronics guy" the chances 
that you will destroy your CS are bigger than the chances that you will 
repair it.
Just as simple example: one mounting rail of the cards runs supply 
voltage. If you get the wrong contact between a device in the synth and 
this mounting rail, you may blow a lot of things...
