Basically the note was sustaining with the RM in non modulated status (modulation and speed down, depth up) then the RM enveloped triggered without hearable note-off: I could assume the player used a S-II mode so to play something , leave the note sustain for a while, while setting the envelope and depth then killing it and at the same time triggering the RM; keep in mind that the performance was live, if I'm correct the RM has its short release even if the note sustains, being the sustained note not a note-on message (or not? ), then you can trigger the env even if the note is sustaining....am I wrong??

  I can only assume that you are hearing a second carrier added to the
  first modulating EG which would follow the same tracking as the first
  triggers envelope....2 seperate envelope triggerings cant exist in the
  cs80 rm circuit simoutaneously....It is a mono envelope with first note
  priority....the first note must be released for a period of 200ms before
  the next trigger can start.....kinda like the percussion circuit on a
  B3..
