First annual (ever??) SoCal CS-80 BBQ!

First annual (ever??) SoCal CS-80 BBQ!

2008-08-11 by David Rogoff

Hi all.

As some of you know, I have a couple of CS-80s in my home at the moment.
I recently fixed up and added a Kenton MIDI kit to one and am about to
add a Kenton MIDI to the other. When I'm done, I'll be able to play both
of them, plus cs80v VST, from my Kurzweil MIDIBoard. It should sound
pretty huge!

Before the respective CS80 owners take them away, I thought it would be
fun to have some like-mind synth-geeks come over for an afternoon of
food, drink, and analog synths! It would be great to hear what some
people can do with a CS80 and trade tips. I'm sure some people who've
heard lots about them, but never got to play one, would like to see what
all the fuss is about..

I'm happy to provide grilled burgers (veggie for those who want) and
dogs and maybe chicken. I'd request others bring some drinks, or
sides/snacks, or desserts. You're also welcome to bring some gear,
although to hook up more instruments, someone is going to have to bring
a mixer!

This is tentatively set for Sunday, September 14, around 2pm, although
that's not set in stone yet. My house is in Irvine, right off the 5
freeway. If you are interested, please let me know how many people and
keyboards will be attending... I've got a decent amount of room, but
I'm in a gated community and need to give the guards a guest list.

Sorry for those of you not in the area - you'll have to set up your own
gatherings.

Sure :^) Your welcome to bring it along so people can check out the
differences. In fact, I just found another AH member a few minutes from
my house with a CS60, so there may be a couple of them. Anyone nearby
with a CS50?
