CS-80 running temperature issue....

2004-08-20 by Quazimodo

Hi again guys.

I have made a stand from 12 mill plywood that runs around the sides
and back of my 80 and has two shelves for some of my other gear. My
question is, although there is space ABOVE the vent slots on the left
hand side (power suppy)- a good 4 inches, because it has been 'walled
in' so to speak, it gets quite warm in there. How much ventilation
does an 80 require, and if it IS slightly restricted might that
improve the tuning stability?

I could always install a small fan to blow the hot air away if need
be.

Cheers.
TOM

Tom,

I don't know about the heat issue, but it would be great if you
could post a picture, or two, of the stand you built. I've been
thinking about building something similar, so I'd like to see what
other people have done.

What are other people using, other than the Yamaha stand?

 David

Hi David.

I'll dig out my digital camera an put a couple of shots into our
photo section here. I'll post when they're in there.

Cheers.
TOM

damn scott,
do you have any rooms left to rent?
im a 'reasonable' clean person, can tell boring jokes or dull stories for food.
And the stories about me being a satanworshipper are somewhat exagerated, depends on your interpretation of pagan blood sacrifices. other then that i would gladly move in sometime tomorrow.
but seriously, nice place you've got there!
